Meet our New Priest

We are grateful to the Lord and pleased to announce that Anna Erickson Baumann has accepted the call to be the deacon and then priest-in-charge serving the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Nicholasville Kentucky.

Anna will begin her tenure at Resurrection on August 1. She will be ordained to the priesthood in December.  Anna is passionate about nurturing communities of justice, welcome, and spiritual depth. Graduating with her Master of Divinity from Bexley Seabury Seminary, Anna brings over 20 years of experience in ministry, nonprofit leadership, and faith-rooted advocacy. Her work is grounded in a deep love for the Gospel, a strong sense of pastoral care, and a vision for the Beloved Community rooted in the life and teachings of Jesus.

Anna has served in Episcopal congregations in Kentucky, Georgia, and California, where she has preached, taught, led formation for all ages, and helped congregations discern their mission and outreach. She currently serves as a seminary intern at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church in Somerset, KY, where her ministry includes preaching, children’s formation, adult education, and engagement in justice-focused outreach. Her spiritual leadership is marked by theological depth, inclusive liturgy, and a contemplative heart.

She is excited about the daily life of serving as parish priest and loves helping individuals and families in their faith journeys and deepening understanding of Jesus’ teaching to equip all for service to others. In her words: “to me, outreach and Christian formation are two sides of the same coin”.

Prior to seminary, Anna served as Deputy Director of the Kentucky Center for Economic Policy, where she led teams, shaped public messaging, and advocated for policies that promote equity and dignity for all. She has testified before legislatures, spoken at public forums, and written extensively on social and economic justice, often amplifying the voices of faith leaders and marginalized communities.

Anna also lives and works on a family farm with her husband and children in Paint Lick, KY, where she practices sustainable agriculture and community food access. Her interests include scriptural exegesis, trauma-informed pastoral care, womanist and eco-feminist theology, and the spiritual practice of listening. She is passionate about liturgy, the integration of faith and justice, and walking with others in the story God is unfolding in their lives. We thank God for Anna and are excited to begin this ministry alongside her.
